If you get 3 beeps a pause and then the beeps repeat. The RAM is definitely defective. I suggest getting new RAM and if it is new I would return it to the vendor for a replacement. You can call them up to get an exchange arranged. IFixit is really the best place to get your parts for Mac products IMHO.
